Team USA rallied in Day two on the 2023 Walker Cup. In the morning foursomes, the United States team won three out of the four points available. In the afternoon singles matches the US players went 6-2-2. This resulting in them clinching the Walker Cup with a final points total of 14.5 to 11.5 over GB&I.
The Walker Cup was clinched when Amateur David Ford drained a putt on the 16th hole closing out his match against Alex Maguire. The 20-year old lefty hails from Peachtree Corner, Georgia. Austin Greaser of the US won his match just a bit later taking the final team total to 14.5 points.
The next Walker Cup will take place in 2025 and will be played at the ultra exclusive Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach, California.
